September 7, 2008 Itchy Scratchy Street Clinic in Colonia Castillo

HSTJ held a Street Clinic on Sunday, September 7th in the Colonia Castillo

It was a great turnout, 69 animals were treated for mange, infections, parasites and fleas and ticks.

Each animal is sent home with some food and any needed medicines.

The people of the community that brought their animals are individually spoken to about nutrition and proper care, as well as the importance of sterilization. We hope to see each and every one of them back at our next Spay and Neuter clinic!

great job to all of the volunteers! Thank you Dr. Sarah for coming from San Diego to assist with the examinations.

HSTJ's August 31, 2008 Spay & Neuter Clinic in Playas de Tijuana

On behalf of the animals, HSTJ would like to thank all of the loyal supporters who made this clinic possible. The August 31st clinic in Playas de Tijuana was the largest turn out this year. 40 animals were processed at this clinic and if it were not for the amazing response by our volunteers we would have been overwhelmed! Luckily we had a great group of 10 volunteers to work recovery and pre-op care! A warm welcome goes out to new volunteers Bentley, Anna, Tom and Angie! You proved to be a wonderful addition to the group!

Please join us at the La Jolla Brewhouse on Tuesday, September 30th from 5-8 pm to help raise money to fund a mobile street unit by the end of the year.

Having a mobile unit would allow HSTJ to continue the critically important street clinics in the poorer neighborhoods of Tijuana to educate the communities about the humane treatment and health of the animals there and of course the importance of sterilzation to help control the overpopulation of animals.

We hope to see you there!
