Four were rejected for surgery because of various conditions for which they were treated and re-scheduled.
Nine female dogs and 11 female cats were spayed.
Two male dogs and 5 male cats were neutered.
(These four surgeries were done at a private vet clinic through HSTJ's Feral Cat Program which is currently being sponsored by a resident of Playas de Tijuana who came to us to learn more about how to handle the feral cat problem in Playas. The donor has helped in the humane capture of the cats and covers the costs of the surgeries.)
That brings the total spay and neuter surgeries for the month of May 2008 to a total of 31 animals sterilized.
The spay and neuter clinic was a big success. We had several new American volunteers attend for the first time and they joined the regular corps of Mexican and American volunteers that made this event so successful. Welcome Nicole, Madeline and Mike!
Thanks again for your support and for taking the interest in helping us help the animals.
Without volunteers, sponsors and donors, we could not function. You make all of this possible. On behalf of the animals, we salute you.
